Interior vs Exterior Detailing: What's the Difference?

Detailing splits into two jobs that solve different problems. Knowing which you actually need saves money.

Interior detailing

This is everything inside the cabin: deep vacuuming of seats, carpets, and mats; steam cleaning; wiping and protecting plastics, leather, and trim; glass from the inside; and odor and stain treatment. Book interior when the car looks fine outside but the inside has crumbs, dust, pet hair, spills, or a smell.

Exterior detailing

This is everything on the outside: hand wash, wheels and tires, exterior glass, and a protective finish like wax or sealant for gloss and protection. Book exterior when the paint looks dull, dirty, or unprotected but the cabin is already clean.

When to book which

• Interior only: clean paint, messy cabin (common for garage-parked cars).
• Exterior only: tidy cabin, dull or salt-covered paint (common in winter).
• Full package: both need attention, or you want the car reset end to end.
